Guard Recruiting Incentive Program

The overall aim of GRIP is to gain assistance in enlisting Soldiers and Airmen into the Oklahoma National Guard. The GRIP program will provide a monetary incentive of $500 to Soldiers, Airmen, and retirees who can provide a lead to recruiters that results in an enlistment. This is a joint effort for tomorrow’s  Oklahoma National Guard!

  • Current Soldiers, Airmen, and retirees will function as assistants, who will provide mentorship and guidance to recruits.
  • Assistants will be expected to guide, motivate, and encourage recruits all the way up to the point of enlistment.
  • All current members of the Oklahoma National Guard holding the pay grade of O-3 and below, can participate in GRIP.
  • All previous members of the Oklahoma National Guard who received an honorable dishcharge.
  • Retirees of any rank who have served in the Oklahoma National Guard can also participate.
  • Guardsmen assigned, attached, or affiliated (full-time, part-time, temporary status or performing Active Duty for Operational Support) to the National Guard Recruiting Command and their immediate family members cannot participate in this program.
  • Guardsmen will not be allowed to exceed 20 recruits per fiscal year, unless approved by The Adjutant General.

GRIP Agreement Submission

GRIP Agreement Review

The GRIP Program Manager reviews the contract to ensure the GRIP Assistant is eligible for the program. GRIP manager will email status of eligibility upon submission. Notification and guidance of the OMES registration requirement will be provided in eligibility email.

Lead Assignment

Once the GRIP Program Manager determines the GRIP Assistant is eligible for the program, he/she will send the agreement and lead information to a local recruiter based on the lead’s zip code or referred recruiter.

Mentorship

Once the Recruiter has been chosen, he/she will request assistance from the GRIP Assistant in maintaining contact with the lead throughout the enlistment process. The GRIP Assistant will offer advice and encouragement alongside the assigned Recruiter during the enlistment process.

Payment Disbursement
