Hello, I’m Drill Sergeant Vogt

I have always wanted to serve in some form or fashion of the Military. The duty to my country and service to my community was always a passion in my life. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do with my life, like so many others, I pursued college with friends. Once in college and realizing that I had no one holding me accountable to go to class, make excellent grades, and even pay for tuition, I decided that I needed a change. I needed discipline. What could I do that would provide discipline, structure, and pay for my college? I had a friend in the Oklahoma Army National Guard who talked to me previously. After 72 hours from meeting my recruiter, I was at MEPS. Shortly after joining the Infantry and completing Basic and AIT, I deployed to Iraq in 2008, then Afghanistan from 2009-2012, and Ukraine in 2017. I am extremely blessed with how my career has turned out. Without the Oklahoma Army National Guard, I would not be the man, father, or husband I am today, and I owe everything to this organization. With all of that being said, don’t hesitate when fate comes knocking at your door to embrace it with open arms as if it’s an old friend.
