Hello, I’m SGT Parker.

I have always wanted to serve in some form or fashion in the military. The duty to my country and service to my community was always a passion in my life. Growing up I wanted to become a soldier more than anything. I put it off for longer than I should have, but was very fortunate that when the time came I still qualified. My only regret would be that I didn’t do it sooner. Since enlisting in 2016 I have had opportunities to do things I never would have done had I not volunteered to become a citizen soldier in the OK Army National Guard. The primary reason I joined was for the sense of pride and the chance to carry on the tradition of my family members who served. Without the Army National Guard I would not be the man, father, or husband that I am today and I owe everything to this organization. Regardless of your reason for wanting to serve, “don’t wait” because no one wants to tell the story of how they wished they would have tried.
